Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Casa Vendemmia different?

We don’t just source from small producers, we center them. Their names, their methods, their land. Unlike many brands, we don’t white-label or dilute their stories. Each product comes directly from the person who made it, and we make sure they’re paid fairly for it.

How do I know this isn’t just fancy branding?

We don’t buy in bulk to repackage someone else's work. You’re not buying from a brand, you’re buying from a small high-quality producer. Every batch comes from the small producer's hands, not a faceless supply chain.

Why does Casa Vendemmia ship directly from the small producer?

We believe in eliminating unnecessary steps, no middlemen, no repackaging, no warehouses. We coordinate shipping directly from the producer to your kitchen to preserve freshness, traceability, and fairness for the farmer. This way, you get the real thing, straight from the source.

What makes Chianti Classico DOP olive oil so special?

DOP (Denominazione d’Origine Protetta) means this oil meets the highest regional standards, from the exact olive varieties grown, to how and when they’re harvested, to how the oil is pressed. It’s like wine: terroir and tradition matter. Lorenzo’s DOP oil is a true expression of the Chianti Classico region, with a bold, green, peppery profile you won’t find elsewhere.

What’s the difference between the DOP Chianti Classico olive oil and the other EVOOs?

The DOP oil is from a certified, protected area with strict regulations. It’s more robust and complex, ideal as a finishing oil. The other EVOOs are also high quality, from the same producer, but without the DOP designation.

Why does this olive oil taste different from what I’m used to?

Because it is different. Most olive oils on the market — even “extra virgin” ones — are mass-produced blends, sometimes mixed with lower-grade oils or shipped and stored improperly. Ours is hand-harvested, cold-pressed within hours, and bottled on-site in Tuscany.

Why preorder?

This is our very first release. By preordering, you're part of something intimate and rare, helping Lorenzo do things the right way, without pressure to overproduce. It allows us to give you the highest-quality experience, rooted in transparency, slowness, and respect for the land.

When will my preorder ship?

Preorders ship directly from Lorenzo in Tuscany on June 24, 2025. You’ll receive tracking info as soon as your package is on its way.

Where do you currently ship to?

We ship to Italy, Canada, USA, France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Monaco, Luxembourg, and Austria. We will be including more countries shortly as we work to provide you with the best shipping options.

Will it always be preorders?

Not always. It will depend on the product and the producer. Some work seasonally or in extremely limited quantities, and preorder helps us support their natural pace. Others may have ready-to-ship inventory in the future. What’s consistent is this: everything we offer is small-batch, high-integrity, and never mass-produced.

Where does my money go?

Most of it goes directly to the producer. Casa Vendemmia takes a small percentage (to keep the lights on). We believe there is a better way to do business that does not include gauging the small producers.

Do you hold inventory?

No. That’s part of what makes Casa Vendemmia different. We don’t warehouse mass quantities. We run preorders when appropriate to allow the producer to make only what’s needed - and you receive it straight from the source. Nothing is made to be wasted.

Is your olive oil certified organic?

Lorenzo is currently waiting for official organic certification. Rest assured, he farms organically, without pesticides or synthetic chemicals, using traditional, sustainable methods passed down through generations. We will let you know once the official certification arrives.

When will there be more products?

Soon. We’re carefully building relationships with a handful of extraordinary makers across Italy. If you’re on our list, you’ll be the first to know.

What is your returns and refunds policy?

Can I return or exchange my order?
Because our olive oil is a food product made in limited quantities and shipped directly from small producers, we unfortunately can’t accept returns or exchanges. However, if something arrives damaged or not as expected, please reach out to us on our contact form, we’ll make it right.

What if my order arrives damaged or broken?
Please send us a photo within 5 days of delivery, and we’ll either send a replacement or offer a refund, depending on availability.

Can I cancel my preorder?
If your order hasn’t shipped yet, we can issue a full refund. After shipping, cancellations are no longer possible due to the nature of the product.

How do I contact you with a question?
